Hypnotherapy to Improve Sleep

NHS Choices defines insomnia as: "... difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep for long enough to feel refreshed the next morning, even though you've had enough opportunity to sleep".

Alex Brounger Hypnotherapy - Hypnotherapy for Sleep Problems

I often get enquiries from people struggling with Snoring, Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, Sleep Deprivation, Restless Leg Syndrome and from those people that find that even too much is not enough. If you are struggling with sleep in any way please contact me. I may be able to help and I would be happy to explain why we can struggle with these conditions.

Of these, a difficulty in getting to sleep or staying asleep are perhaps the most common sleep complaints, but sleeping too much can also cause the same lack of energy and irritability during the day which results from not getting enough sleep.

Most people understand the importance of sleep's role in healing us physically. What is less well known, and arguably more important, is it's importance in the mind's healing processes. Sleep helps us to make sense of the world and the stresses and problems we may be currently facing. So it's no surprise that problems with it can cause a lot frustration and lead to other symptoms and difficulties.

Sleep disorders are a common problem and most of us will suffer from one kind or another at some point in our life. People struggling to handle stress or those suffering with anxiety and/or depression are often the most likely to suffer.

Unfortunately sleep medication is not perfect. Although it can often help us fall to sleep in the first place, there is a risk of dependence with sleeping pills and they often impact that stage of the sleep cycle which helps us cope with the stresses and the strains of daily life (which are often the reason we are struggling in the first place). This impact sleeping pills have on REM sleep can mean a less restorative or less satisfying sleep process.

Many of my clients come to see me seeking help specifically with a lack of or too much sleep. Others will explain that, whilst that is not the reason that they are seeking help, they are unhappy with their sleep patterns. This is not surprising as many conditions are caused by or exacerbated by difficulties in getting a restful night sleep. Often once sleep patterns improve (which they inevitably will during a course of good Hypnotherapy) then other symptoms that may be troubling them will subside.

If you would like to know more about how I, or any other Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, can help with your sleeping difficulties then please contact me via email, the contact form on the contact page, my facebook page: www.facebook.com/abhypnotherapy or on 07917415926, and I would be happy to arrange an Initial Consultation.

Hypnotherapy is effective. Results may vary and success is not guaranteed. Full client commitment is important and the client will want to make changes.
